Creating a profile — for yourself, your fighter, your team, or your club — is free, always. A profile holds whatever you choose to share: a name, a record, physical stats, a photo.
If you're setting up a matchup and the other side doesn't have a profile — a school entering their fighter against someone unregistered, or a fan proposing two people or teams face off — you can quick-create a minimal profile for them right inside the request form. No separate signup, no waiting.
Any profile created this way is marked unclaimed until the person or team it represents actually logs in and takes ownership of it. Until that happens, treat everything on that profile as proposed by the person who created it — not confirmed by the party it names.
We don't maintain a baseline database of every fighter, team, or player. Profiles are created only when someone actually proposes a matchup. That keeps the data relevant, and it avoids putting real people's information into a fundraising tool without their involvement.
Sometimes "A" wants to fight, but there's no specific "B" yet. An Open Challenge lets you post A's side of a matchup with the opponent slot left open — "awaiting challenger" — instead of a named profile.

The suggested goal is a starting point, not a fixed number — a higher-cost market like a major city will suggest a larger goal than a regional or local one, but you're always free to set your own.

If a campaign doesn't reach its goal, no success fee is ever charged — because no funds are ever taken from backers in the first place.
Backing a matchup is a pledge toward a goal, not a purchase of anything tradable. Funds are held with a third-party payment processor or escrow provider — never in this site's own account.
If the deadline passes without the goal being reached, every backer is refunded in full. No partial event happens, and no partial funds are kept.
If the goal is reached, funds only begin releasing once both sides have actually confirmed they're competing — not just because the money total was hit. Release then happens in stages: an initial amount once the venue is booked, a second closer to the event date, and reconciliation afterward.
Every matchup shows one of three statuses:
Open Challenge — A has posted, the opponent slot is still open, applications are being reviewed.
Fans Hope For — both sides are named, but the actual opponent hasn't yet verified they've agreed to compete. This is the default status for every new named matchup.
Confirmed — both named parties have verified, through their own account, that they've agreed to compete.
Once a matchup is funded and confirmed, there's a minimum of 60–90 days before the event can be held. This floor exists for reasons beyond logistics:
You may set a longer runway than the minimum. You may not set a shorter one.
This site is a funding and discovery platform. It is not the promoter, organizer, or licensee of record for any physical event. The person who posts a request is responsible for contracting the venue, arranging officials, and holding any insurance the event requires.
Every competing party is responsible for their own participation agreement and liability waiver, executed directly with the other side and, where applicable, the venue — not through this site.
